Last updated: 1 August 2026

This Privacy Policy explains what information the Recess app (“Recess”, “we”, “us”) collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. We designed Recess to keep as much of your data on your device as possible.

Who we are

Recess is operated by Nicolas Chan. If you have any questions about this policy or your data, contact us at hello@recesshabit.com.

Information we collect

Information that stays on your device

The following is used only on your device and is not transmitted to us or stored on our servers:

How we use information

How information is shared

We do not sell your personal information. We share limited information only with service providers that help us run the app:

Data retention and deletion

We keep your account information for as long as your account exists. You can permanently delete your account and its associated cloud data at any time from within the app: Settings, then Delete account. This removes your account and the settings and answers stored with it. Your subscription is billed by Apple and is cancelled separately in your Apple account settings.

Children

Recess is not directed to children and is intended for individual adult use. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Security

We rely on Apple, Google Firebase, and RevenueCat, which use industry-standard measures to protect data in transit and at rest. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date above.
